Hello friends!! Today I want to share some tips on how to come up with new card ideas when you are stuck or not creative at all.. you are going to see how easy is to get your creative juices back pretty fast!
When you feel like you cannot really come up with new card ideas or feel like your creative juices are not flowing, or maybe you just don’t have too much time to think of a new design for your card cause let’s admit it, we all want to craft but cannot afford to spend all day long in your craft bubble (I know this is crazy, but there are chores to be taken care or kids that need to be fed.. get the picture.. ha!) well this tip my friends is going to help you for those occasions..
So here it is my tip: Look at some cards for inspiration and then change something about it, it could be the colors, the elements, the layout, the size of the focal point or the placement of the focal point.. you can do this by looking at old cards you have made or by looking online like going to pinterest (just make sure you put a time limit, cause you don’t want to spend all your craft time on the pinterest rabbit hole – not that I have done that but I have been told.. lol)
And following this advice, the card that I am sharing today was inspired from one of the cards I made during last week FB live event!! you can see the cards HERE. I used as well the Falling for Leaves bundle.
In this case I loved the focal point of the last card I made during the facebook live event last Thursday, so I decided to recreate that one, however this time I made that piece smaller than the original card, but you can see I stamped the focal point the same way I did it on my inspiration card. Below some pictures from the “inspiration card”
Another thing to note is that I changed the die cuts I used on this card, the one from the FB live had the maple leave and this time I used the other leaves from the Falling for leaves bundle.
You can see how easy it is to get a new look on your cards just by changing a few things. Next time you are stuck creatively speaking try this tip, look at cards and think how you can change them, you will see that you get your creative juices flowing again in no time!
