Easy Birthday Card to make

How to make an Easy Birthday Card

For this Birthday card I decided to use an easy for cool fun fold for you to try.. This is one of those Fun Folds that always look amazing no matter what theme, or paper pack or stamp set you use!

So give it a try as you will see that you can make this cards with any DSP a.k.a. Pattern paper you already have…

Speaking of which have you heard of the latest promotion Stampin’ Up! has about DSP??? nope??

Well, let me share with you that during October we have a selection of paper packs that are available at 15% discount!!!

Is that not amazing??  I love using patterned paper for the majority of my cards as it makes it so easy to design my projects.. so definitely would recommend you check this promotion here

And if you are curious to know exactly which designer series paper are included in this section, then head over here to see the pack included and their discounted priced..

If you have been following me for a while, you know that I use the designer series paper as a  way to get color combinations and even some of the embellishments as I love to either die cut or fussy cut some of the larger images for my cards..

I will be posting throughout this month about how to use the designer series paper so you get more ideas.. so keep coming back every week to get more inspiration..

Ok but lets get back to the Birthday card for today.. Below you will see the sketch I used and other details for this card!!  And as usual you will find as well the video tutorial below, where you can see how to make this fun fold ..

The Sketch and other details

For this Birthday Card, I selected the Ornate Garden Suite, which has a great specialty designer series paper.  it has sheets with foil elements that just make it beautiful!

I picked the sheets I wanted to use and from there I selected the color combination!! This is by far the easiest way to come up with color combinations!!

You already have seen these colors together in the sheets you are using, so It is always a successful combination when you are making cards!! no need to know fancy color theories  to make cards that color coordinate beautifully 😉

Once you have the color combination, then it is time to decide which card lay out to make!!! so looking for sketches is the next step..

sketches to playAs I have mentioned in previous posts, I love using sketches for my cards. This is an easy way to trigger my creativity in no time..

So if you ever find yourself not knowing what card to make, I encourage you to look for sketches and give it a try!!!

Believe me it never fails!!

Once you have selected the sketch, start looking for ways to incorporate the designer series paper and how to embellish your card.

In my case I decided to use the patterned paper for the background of my card, and a coordinating ribbon in the Terracotta Tile, which is part of the color combination I had selected.

Additionally, I wanted to add a daisy flower mainly because this was part of the patterned paper I used. So I knew that would coordinate beautifully with the card.

For this flower I used both  sizes of the daisy punches.  You can watch the video tutorial below to learn how to make this flower step by step.

The Video Tutorial
