Blog Hop Banner

Have you heard the news?? Stampin’ Up! has released the brand new Butterfly Bouquet Suite, which is beautiful.

But before I continue, today I am participating in an blog hop with an amazing group of fellow demonstrators around the globe. And guess what? we are going to be showcasing projects using this brand new collection of products!

So if you are excited about the Butterfly Bouquet Suite, then my friend, you are in for a treat!! Make sure you visit all the participating blogs and I know you will get lots of great ideas and lots of inspiration for your next crafting projects!

This beautiful new “Suite” has butterfly images and butterfly die cuts, and of course there is a coordinating designer series paper and a specialty designer series paper that look fantastic.. Definitely a must have!

Butterfly Bouquet Suite

A few things to consider, is that the stamp set (Butterfly Brilliance) and the dies (Brilliant Wings) will be available on the new annual catalog being release later this year.  HOWEVER, the designer series paper does not! so make sure you get these while supplies last! Both of these papers are just fantastic for making cards using the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle!

But let’s get into the projects for today, shall we?

Three Beautiful Birthday Cards using the Butterfly Bouquet

For the cards today, I definitely wanted to showcase the beautiful designer series paper! Mainly because it really coordinates perfectly with all the different designs. Not to mention that there is a sheet whose design matches perfectly the die set! so when you run it through you get all six butterflies ready to use in your cards!

I love it when we have images in the designer series paper a.k.a DSP that can be used as stand alone images or embellishments. These usually make it so easy to make cards, like the ones you see below.

Once I have selected the supplies I want to use, then I usually pick a color combination, and sketches and I just start to play.. Usually I go thru the DSP to see what designs are calling my eye that day. This always helps me get started..

Color Combination

Once I know what designs I want to use from the paper pack, I would then seek for the color combination for my cards.  A lot of the times I find that I come up with color combinations that I would have never picked by myself if I hadn’t seen them in the DSP.

And this was not the exception today! See below the color combination below..

I would not have put together Calypso Coral and Blushing bride together.. but they actually look really well together! you can see them in my cards.. So if you have ever struggled with color combinations, please give it a try to this.. I know you will love the results!

The Sketches and Other details

Below you will see the sketches that I use as inspiration for these cards.

sketches to play   sketches to play    sketches to play

I love using sketches, because they help me get card ideas every single time.. I can change them and come up with different looks every single time.. so I would recommend you play with them the next time you are in your craft room. I promise you, you will love it! plus you will see how easy you can start making cards when you follow a sketch.

Birthday Handmade Cards

And here are the cards I made using those sketches!

See how beautiful the cards look..  I tried to combine the different designs on the DSP into my cards..

For the first card, I loved how nice the detailed butterfly looks with the petal pink foil paper (from the Love You Always Suite).. It looks so beautiful! Don’t you think? For this one though, I added a silhouette butterfly so it didn’t show banner underneath across the Butterfly..

For the second and third card I used the butterflies from the DSP. See how easy it was to make a card when you have those butterflies die cut? honestly it is just like adding embellishments to the sketches to decorate your cards.. so definitely give it a try.

One thing I wanted to point out, is that on card #2 I use the Magenta Madness for the highlight color. When I choose with a highlight color, I try to use the same color the DSP is using, but I pay special attention to the color that shows the least or in smaller portions.. so when you look the DSP on the background of this card you will see that you can see mainly the Blushing Bride and the Calypso Coral, but you don’t see as much of the Magenta Madness, so this would be the color to pick for small design element, like I did in this card.

Also, for the third card, did you see that yellow bow? if you are wondering which one this is, let me tell you it is the Whisper White crinkled seam binding ribbon! But I have it colored with the Mango Melody alcohol marker.  This is a great tip, as you can get the ribbon in ANY color you might need!!
